Announcements:
Mark Richard stated that the mariachi concert polio fundraiser on October 26 is looking for sponsors. If you have someone, please let him know. An interested party would need to donate $300 to be a sponsor.
Tom Bates reminded us of The Commons gala on July 20 at 6:30. He stated that the board had approved a $250 donation to The Commons. Tickets are $35 and he encouraged everyone to get their tickets.
Ray Goellner reminded board members that there would be a board meeting after this one.
Jim Callender announced a hospital foundation fundraiser at the Murray Hotel on October 25 with psychic Princess Rhonda, one of the top psychics in the country.

Brad Chadwick, whose 18 year old son is now in Mexico learning Spanish, will then go on a mission for their church.

 

Ray introduced fellow Rotarian Brad Chadwick, supply chain manager at Chino and Tyrone mines. After sharing his work history and a little about Freeport McMoRan, he launched into a talk about the supply chain to and from the mines. It starts with needing a product or a service, through the execution of a contract, to the material or service coming to the site, managing the inventory and warehousing that product. Suppliers are a key piece of the process for the mines. As much as possible, they buy locally. Their suppliers are held to high quality, legal, and ethical standards.
They have a bid process and must have a minimum of three bids to award a contract.

After a question and answer period, Ray thanked Brad for his presentation and gave him a token gift.
