Reminded everyone to put their phones on silent; also a reminder that if paying with a credit card, Q's adds an additional 3.5%
charge to help defray the extra credit card company charge, and an 18% tip fee is included in the bill.
Linda Lowrance has volunteered to be the Fellowship Chairperson. This is a new position.
There will be a board meeting next week.

There will be a Foundation Board huddle after this meeting.
Peter said people can donate to help the asylum shelter (Jack Isbell's offer). Peter has emailed complete instructions to all members.
Happy Dollars:
Maggie:
Proposed that all Happy Dollars collected since last week (7/26) be saved to help defray expenses which will occur from the 9 people (RFE) visiting in October. This idea was approved.
Maggie said that she has the sign-up sheet for Fairgate. In return for staffing the entrance gates and selling tickets, the County Fair gives us a donation amounting to 10% of the ticket receipts. Jim said that, in the past, any money the club received from that has been donated back to the Fair for improvements they can make. Work schedules are flexible; 2, 3, or 4 hours, for volunteers.
Sunny M. has been a Rotary member for 17 years!

The next RFE committee meeting will be Monday, August 8 at Kathy's house.

Barbara Smith has been very ill, but hopes to join us again soon for meetings.
Art:
The "Pins for Polio" fundraiser as a club event is still on, but the date is not yet decided.
Mark Richards will be the lead for the "Blues for Polio" fundraiser to be held on November 5, 2022, 7 p.m. at Light Hall. Mark also said the anchor band is set; looking for a guitarist and sponsors. Mark said he needs someone to work the lobby, take tickets, and be able to take credit cards. Peter F. said he could do that.
Ticket prices will be $15.00. Sponsors would pay $300.00, and he plans to have two different options for making deal attractive to potential sponsors.
Niel said his office-Edward Jones-would be a sponsor.
Program:
Priscilla Lucero, Executive Director Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments (SWNMCG), delivered an extensive and very interesting report on the work she and her team do ahead of each legislative session to identify, coordinate and prioritize the requests for State financial support from the four counties of Grant, Catron, Luna and Hidalgo, local municipalities and nonprofit organizations. The requests go the legislators in the Assembly and State Senate and to the Governor. The effect of these efforts has been to maximize State support for our region.
