Peter F.: Offered two free tickets for the GCCA concert October 27, 2023.
Jim: "Maggie & I met with WNMU--starting January 9, 2024, our meetings will be back in the Sunset Room. Check in with the cashier who will have a list of members. If lunch is desired. pay $10.75 and go through the cafeteria line. They will cover the cost of the speakers' meal; you cannot bring in your own food. If the Sunset Room is not available, another room on the 3rd floor will be available. WNMU will be closed December 6 through January 8, 2024."
Kids, Health & Hygiene project. There will be a dental hygienist (or two) who will give a 30 minute presentation on basic dental care--brushing and flossing--to kindergarteners. This will be on a Friday morning at 10 a.m., date not yet scheduled. Rotarians are requested to just show up as support.
Carlos: Need volunteers to help decorate the Convention Center on November 17th in preparation for the Centennial Gala on the 18th.

Art: We need to form a nominating committee to meet
after todays meeting for next year's board, then meet after next weeks meeting to nominate next years board members.
Grossed a little less than $3K from the Rock Away concert.
Peter F.: Will we have a brief huddle to discuss how to pay the money to Rotary after this meeting?
Jim; This Friday is the Hospital Gala, from 5-8 p.m. The new CEO will be there. Also goodies and chances to win a trip to Tuscany.
Jim spoke briefly about being inducted into the Omaha Sports Hall of Fame this past year. He was the Girls Basketball Coach at Peru State University. After a flight delay of 8 hours, he arrived at 2:30 a.m., met with lots of people from 30 years ago, was inducted (first one and gave a speech). Twenty of his former players were also inducted as the first team to go to Nationals. Jim said it "was the very best day" ever!
Program:
Carlos introduced Bobby Carillo, a personal trainer whose gym is the Fountain of Youth, on Bullard. He spoke of differences between strength training and weight training, and how essential doing some form of exercise is for making a healthier, happier person.
