Guests: Stephen Lindsey, our speaker, Richard Pieper, La Jean Pieper (future speakers on April 4th) and Sarah Pieper. Richard said they will be telling us about the hostage crisis in Cokeville, Wy. in 1986, where they lived at that time. There is a movie called Cokeville Miracle, either on Netflix or Prime.
Happy Dollars: Kate--February was NOT a good month. My car and a deer collided, both resulted in a total loss. After a week of using a rental car, my husband insisted on getting a new car, which resulted in a trip to Albuquerque. Found a car, but problems with the loan. My health issues were up and down, so I am really just happy to be here.
Sunny K.--I have a new eye and tested negative for Covid a week ago!
Dorothy:--my son and family moved from California to NM: Deming, but it's closer.
Announcements:
Sunny K.
Reminder: St. Patrick's Day potluck-social party at Sunny and Harry Kellerman's house at 5:30 p m., on Friday, March 17th. Please call Sunny to RSVP. A sign-up sheet is being passed around.
It looks like a small, intimate group, but Harry is making his famous Bailey's Irish Cream cake!
Since Cain is still under construction, it's easier to come from the west (from Little Walnut rather than Swan) and go around the barrier to get to our house.
The District conference is in Roswell April 21st and 22nd, with the evening of the 20th being a reception. The Clarion Hotel is only $64.00 per night. All the clubs are invited to join in the contest to create their idea of a UFO table decoration size, using ordinary materials from your house.
Carlos:
Foundation board meeting on March 21st.
Program:
Carlos introduced Stephen Lindsey, founder of Future Forge and Makerspace. Lindsey has lived in Silver city for 20 years, and wears many hats with equal enthusiasm. The Future Forge is located at 212 S. Bullard St., or check it out at: thefutureforge.org for more information.
