Guests: Dr. Joe Shephard (today's speaker), Don White (to be inducted today), Steve Westenhofer (District 5520 AG) Roger and Maria Rucks (visiting Rotarians from NE El Paso Rotary Club), Sudie Kennedy, Pete Stubben, Lynda Schuh and husband, Frank Herdliska, Annie Jones, Miki Jeppesen (Ben Jenkins uncle, visiting from Colorado), Dr. Levi Si (WNMU faculty, and guest of Tom Bates), Aman Khan, (Clara's husband.)
Announcements:
Niel presented Roger and Maria Rucks with a Silver City Rotary Club Banner. They had given us their club (Northeast El Paso) banner last month.
Tom: My guest Levi, has graduated from Utah State, and is now working at WNMU's Dept. of Education.
Ben: Introducing my great-uncle, Miki Jeppesen from Logan, Utah.
Mark: Update on Blues concert. We have six acts as of now; they are donating their time and talents. Their will be a VIP reception before the event, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The concert is at Light Hall, 7 p.m., on November 5th. Mark said he has additional sponsorship letters if anyone knows of a possible sponsor.
Maggie: Maggie reminded all of Fairgate, September 22-24, and if you have not yet signed up to volunteer, give Maggie a call.
Linda L.: There will be a Pasta Fellowship Potluck on September 27th at 5:30 p.m., at Linda and Ken Lowrance's home. No noon meeting on that day. It is an Italian themed event.
Sunny: No update on RFE today; further information very soon.
Rotarian Mike McManigal, hiking the Continental Divide, is looking for a ride to Lordsburg. He will be here on the 10th of October . Hiking to 180 somewhere. Sunny has his phone number. Niel agreed to give him a ride.
Niel: Board meeting today.
Rosie: At the Asylum shelter this past week, an unbelievable number of refugees from Turkey, Russia and Ukraine were there.
Induction:
Sunny K. did the induction ceremony for new member Don White.
Don was president of the Deming Club 20 years ago.
