Tuesday, December 16, 2025:
President Ray Goellner presided.
Ray led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Tom Bates gave the invocation. Jerry Ouzts led the recitation of the Four-Way Test.
Announcements: Ray announced that today we have a business meeting followed by the combined board meetings. The first order of business is to nominate a president-elect and a secretary. He called for nomination of secretary and stated that there is no reason why the secretary should take club meeting minutes. Jerry said she was willing to continue as secretary if she did not have to take club meeting minutes. Linda Telaak made the motion to nominate Jerry Ouzts for secretary, Art Thorn seconded. Motion carried. Tom Bates said he would like to nominate Ray Goellner for president-elect and withdraw his nomination. Linda made a motion
to close the nomination and cast a unanimous vote for the nominee; Mark Richard seconded the motion and motion carried. Ray thanked everyone and said he would be glad to serve a
second term.
Jerry said she would enter the 2026 officers on the Rotary website and asked if the membership roster was up-to-date. Maggie Callaway said that we were good.
Maggie also said that speakers have been scheduled for January and named them. Maggie said February is also covered, but we do need speakers for March. Ray thanked Maggie for arranging the speakers.
Maggie went over the November treasurer’s report. We are in the black. She said the committee for the February Valentine’s fundraiser will begin meeting in January. Jim Callender
said we need to decide on a beneficiary for the event. Tom said he would give us a update on The Commons as beneficiary at a later date. Jim said we are possibly looking at D.A.R.E. as
beneficiary. Other possible beneficiaries were discussed. Mark made a motion that we consider D.A.R.E. as the beneficiary, Jim seconded and motion passed.
Maggie gave an update on the Christmas caroling at Sunset Vista and Millie’s.
There being no further business to discuss, Art made a motion to adjourn and Max Higgs seconded.
