Silver High Students qualified for National History Day in D.C.

Announcements:
Jim announced that Rotarians had contributed over $10 million dollars to the Ukraine Defense in the month of April. He also reminded us that dues payments are due, and if we have questions about our dues to contact Carlos.
Jim also reported that he had seen Jim Tindall the previous Saturday, and Jim is driving and is using his walker and he had celebrated his 90th birthday. Jim T. sent everyone his best wishes.
Niel announced that the board had decided that participation in the "Toss No Mas" project should be on an individual basis.
Peter F. reported that the HiLo Silvers will be performing on Friday, May 13th at 7pm and on Sunday, May 15th at 3 pm. Both performances will be at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Market Street.
Carlos announced that he had tickets available for the evening's Flamenco concert for anyone interested in attending. 
 
Happy Dollars:
Maggie:   "I'm going to be the next Treasurer and am learning everything from Carlos."
Karen:   "I'm bragging for Vlad, who participated in the Gila Bike Race on Sunday and came in 3rd in one stage of the race!  He plans to do the whole race next year.
Niel : "My daughter Lizzie, and Dr. Diaz's daughter Mahlia were on the Silver High School History Team that qualified to go to the National History Day Competition next month in Washington, D.C.
Lucy:  "A happy dollar for Jack Isbell who, as my sergeant at arms, has saved me a lot of work
 
Program: 
Today program was a panel presentation by representatives of three Silver City Churches: Tom Bates, Rotarian and Deacon at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd; Sherrie Lavelle, an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church; and Jared Secret, Pastor of the Methodist Church. (See picture, which also shows club co-president Jim Callender standing behind the three speakers.) They talked about "The Challenges Churches are Facing Today, and how they are meeting them."
