Sunny K. Jim Tindall, a longtime member will be 94 next week. Sunny and Linda T. will be taking a card and cake to him today.
RYLA: Looking for candidates -boys and girls-completing Junior year. Boys camp is July 9-15, and Girls Camp 15-22. Talk to Will Hawkins or Sunny K. for details. Jim C. said possibly choosing either two boys or two girls would save on car trips. Camp counselors are always needed.
Fireside Chat will be at Sunny K.'s house February 9, at 5:30 pm, for new members to get answers to their questions about Rotary. There will be snacks, not dinner.
Tom: Hygiene Project--still collecting hygiene supplies as we wind up on our District Grant.
Samantha Jones, our scholarship recipient, was introduced by Niel.
She thanked us for her scholarship and said she just graduated from high school in May of 2022, with 72 hours of college credits! She is a member of the Criminal Justice Club, and the Psychology Club. Now a senior with 96 credit hours and will graduate in December of this year with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Criminal Psychology. Plans are to attend law school, to start in January 2024, in Tucson or Phoenix with plans to return to Silver City with that law degree.
