Art Thorn is looking for committee volunteers for a "Pins for Polio" fundraiser on November 5th.

A reminder that all of the meetings in August will be at Q's Southern Bistro (Mick's 66). Use the entrance on the left. The room is available to us from 11:30 A.M. UNTIL 1:30 P.M.
Since we will be paying for lunches at Q's, there will not be a charge on your Rotary bill.
If the change becomes a long-term one, we'll be making new arrangements regarding our Rotary materials (badges, gavel, bell and flags) as well as how to handle hybrid meetings.
FYI:
If you plan to pay with a credit card, be aware that there will be a 3.5% extra charge to help meet the restaurant's rising credit card costs. There is an automatic 18% tip added to the bill--cash or credit, so no additional tip is needed.
Peter F. said that our club and members had committed $4800.00 to the new Guatemala water project. The project is now awaiting approval from The Rotary Foundation. Once that occurs, we will asked to send in our contributions. Although Deborah Simon is still involved with the project, the International Sponsor for the project is Fargo-Moorhead AM of Fargo, ND. Peter was assured by Deborah Simon that that North Dakota club has lots of experience and will do an excellent job.
Peter also spoke about the Global grant proposal for the Corazon de Ninos project. The proposal has been submitted and is awaiting approval by The Rotary Foundation. Once that occurs, we will be asked to contribute the $1000.00 we pledged toward the project. That money will be paid from the club Foundation.
Niel said he had passed out a paper from Carlos, explaining the increase in dues. He pointed out a correction in that paper, namely that RYLA is paid by our Foundation and not the club.
Jim said there is a RFE committee meeting at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 8th, at Kathy's house. At this time, there are 9 people expected to be in the visiting group.
Jim and Tom are in charge of the hygiene project, and need 3 or 4 volunteers. Niel offered to take Harrison-Schmitt. There are 8 schools in total.
Niel said there would be a short board huddle after today's meeting.
Karen Beckenbach, President of the Grant County Concert Assn., gave an update on the concerts that are planned for the 2022-2023 year.
