It had been decided that meetings will continue at the Bowling alley until the end of the year, except for the club assemblies. For October 31st, we will be at WNMU, (arranged by Maggie). There will be an update of plans for the club centennial to be held on November 18, 2023 at the Convention Center.
For November 21st, we are not having a meeting due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
November 28th, our guest speaker will be District Governor Richard Haas.
Suggestions for club assembly venues were, HMS, Silver High School Board Room, Corner Kitchen, Episcopal Church. Maggie said someone has to make the arrangements for any venue.

"We need to discuss the By-Laws at the next club assembly which will be October 31st. If anyone has not read (or received) the email that was sent out, please let me know."
Peter also said that the Rock Away Polio fundraiser was an "artistic success", but poorly attended by the community, and only 6 Rotarians. $3500.00 was raised, mainly from sponsors; but money still needs to be paid to WNMU for their staffing.

Carlos introduced our speaker, Ted Presler, who spoke about the Southwest Word Fiesta taking place October 23-29th at the Murray Hotel. Many free events are scheduled, and John Burnett, retired NPR commentator will be the keynote speaker. Ted urged everyone to take a look at the the Word Fiesta website at swwordfiesta.org.
The Fiesta, formerly known as the Southwest Festival of the Written Word, was created to celebrate authors who live and work in the Southwest.
