Announcements:
Niel said he and Carlos attended the PETS on-line and it was "awesome."
 
Jim took a vote on whether or not to host an inbound RFE group in October (approximately October 18-21). Vote was a yes.  Club members will be asked to participate in hosting activities and to help provide transportation the airport in El Paso on October 21.
 
Peter F. said the Grants Management Training is coming up.  March 7,9,15,17 (6-8 pm) via zoom or April 7 (4-5:30 pm) in person.

Peter also said the club needs to think about next year's DDF grant application (Ideas are due by 6/1/22).
 
The Sonny Brown nominations for local businesses deadline is March 22, 2022.  Please give nominations to Peter Falley or Sunny Kellerman.
 
Sunny K. said that Vitalant has asked us to volunteer about 3 times a year to help with check ins and donor hosting for blood drives in Silver City and the club voted to approve the project.
 
Steve Chavira said the Grant County Toastmasters Club will be meeting Wednesday, March 2, 2022, 6-7 pm on Zoom, and he will be sending out an email with the link. He will also provide future dates for meetings.
 
Tom Bates gave an update on the hygiene project. Sunny K. and Art delivered packages to the 6th Street school. Picture was taken; school nurse and everyone were most welcoming.  Extra underwear should be on the list for the fall. Will Hawkins and Vlad to deliver to Stout on March 2. Our interim report on this grant project is due on March 31.
 
Tom also said if anyone would like to make a donation towards the cost of Father Hector's (Juarez) new truck, it can be done on Doug Winter's website https://www.dormirespoder.org. There is a donate button, and donations are tax deductible.
 
Our fund-raising piano concert will be held on April 15 at Light Hall. We will need to select our beneficiary for this event by next week's meeting and one possibility is the Hospital Auxillliary.  
 
Program: 
At our March 1 meeting, Judah and Fran Mondello, talked about their family business, Morning Star Sports, which just celebrated 30 years in Silver City. Rocky and Lynn Mondello are retiring, and three of their four sons are continuing the business.

On March 8, 2022, Terry Anderson, Executive Director and Project Coordinator for the Community Partnership for Children, will be our speaker.
 
The next Toastmasters demo meeting will be held on March 2, 2022 from 6-7 p.m, and on each Wednesday thereafter -- unless and until a new date is selected by participants.  New participants are welcome at these meetings.  Ask Steve Chavira for the Zoom link!
