Announcements:

1. The board has approved the Hygiene Project and Grant Renewal. This needs to be approved by the club. A vote was taken and project and grant renewal approved.
 
2. Will Hawkins said the Teacher of the Year has been selected and will be announced by this week end. Will wanted the Rotary involvement clarified. Niel said $500.00 would be the amount.

3. Saturday, May 6, 9-1 pm is the Dog/Car Wash Fundraiser at the First Savings Bank. See Jim for further details. FFA has promised  kids to help, as well as the Honor Society kids.
An anonymous donor has already donated $500.00!
Everyone: please bring clean old towels!
Maggie and Ray will be cashiers.

Eddie Flores: "I am the newly elected student body president this next year! And I met the Board of Regents!  Much applause!!
 
Sunny K. introduced Dale Rucklos and Renya Craig, owners of the Tranquil Buzz, the Sonny Brown "Small Business of the Year" award. This a Rotary district wide award given to people who demonstrate excellence in employee relations, quality of product and community involvement.

Art Thorn then presented Dale and Renya with Paul Harris awards-a special recognition of our appreciation, whose lives demonstrate the Rotary Service above Self.

Program:
 William (Bill) Norris and Timothy (Tim) Geddes spoke with enthusiasm about the variety of interesting things to see and do at the City of Rocks. Bill is a Biology professor at WNMU, teaching botany and ornithology, and the vice-president of Friends of City of Rocks. Tim is the Professor Emeritus of Friends of City of Rocks; has a degree in aquaculture and is very knowledgeable about what snakes are in the area and how to avoid them. They visit the area frequently, and take students and/or friends with them.
