Announcements:
Kathy Eaton reminded us of our Rotary yard sale from 7AM to 2PM on Saturday, June 1, with proceeds to benefit the High Desert Humane Society in honor of Peter Herzberg’s corgi Teddy.  Please bring sale items to her house at 3713 Christian Flury Dr. on Wednesday or Thursday and please plan to help on Saturday if you are able!  (We will gather at 6:30 AM.)
Art Thorn announced that our Cobre School Food Project, in collaboration with The Commons, is complete.  We spent approximately $10,000 and distributed about 1750 bags/boxes of vegetables.  We also funded a commercial refrigerator and freezer near Bayard Elementary School.  Eight Rotarians participated in the project.
Rosie Higgs mentioned that Frances Reyes, a former member of our club, posted some great photos of herself at the Rotary International Convention in Singapore.
Peter Falley said that the Silver City Rotary Foundation Board will hold an election of new officers at its regular meeting in June (third Tuesday, 6/18).  Please talk to Peter or Jim Callender if you are interested in serving on this board.
Will Hawkins announced that Jose Barrio and 6th Street Elementary Schools ARE NOT closing now.  (They may be consolidated later as part of a five-year plan.)
President Carlos reminded us that our June 25 meeting will be his Demotion Party and will be held at the Ice Cream Emporium downtown (opposite the Silco Theater).
Sunny Kellerman reported that registration for the 2025 Rotary International Convention in Calgary is now open.
