Niel: everyone please put your phones on silent!
Mark: Blues for Polio fundraiser: Saturday, November 5. There are still 5 tickets for the pre-concert reception, which includes food, wine and beer for $75.00 per person. If all the members would sell some general admission tickets before the concert, we would be sure to fill more of the 200 seats available.
Niel said he has 19 tickets and will go up and down the streets
looking for buyers.
Steve asked if tickets could be purchased on-line.
Update from Peter F. "As of Wednesday after noon 10/12/22, there is now a Buy Tickets button on the Club Runner website."
This will also be put into the next news release.
People can buy general admission tickets at First Savings Bank, Edward Jones on Hudson/Niel McDonald, and at the door.
Sunny K.: Monday October 17, at noon, hosts Sunny K., Art, Kathy and Tom will meet their RFE guests in Socorro. Sunny asked that everyone "please participate in some way to meet the out-of-towners."
Sunny said she has the 78. now 74, stuffed animals that have the Rotary logo on the front and End Polio Now on the back. These will be $20.00 each. Buy to keep, give away to grand kids, El Refugio, hospitals, foster care. There is variety of animals, and all are really cute!
Peter F.: Two tickets to give away for GCCA concert on October 29. It is a substitute duo of Eleanor and Dario. She sings in several languages and he is a guitarist. They sound really entertaining. Jack Isbell was the taker.
Niel: A big thank you to Dave Konopnicki, who gave a ride to a fellow Rotarian, Mike McNanagal from here to Lordsburg. Mike is from Kansas, and is hiking the Transcontinental Divide.
Niel thanked the entire board for all their work.
There will be a board meeting today after the meeting.
Niel thanked Lucy for her work as Public Image Chair. Because Lucy has not taken advantage of Steve's Toastmasters' group, she said nothing!
Tom: Ben Jenkins and family are providing dinner for Tom and his guests on Monday night. On Wednesday night, Levi and his wife are cooking Chinese goodies at Tom's house. Levi is not even a member! A big thank you to Ben and wife and Levi and wife for cooking dinners.
Another thank you to the Lowrances for sharing their "party palace" on September 27th.
Ken Lowrance said that the house was actually called the "Party Palace."
Sunny K. Thank you to Will Hawkins, who is distributing announcements--searching for students who will be between the ages of 15 and 1/2 to 18 years old by August of 2023. This is for Rotary Youth Exchange students.

A special thank you to Linda and Ken Lowrance, who opened their house to 12 students and 2 counselors from Colorado who were backpacking, but were being deluged by the rains.
Linda said they received a lovely thank you letter and a quart of raw honey.
Steve: "My wife, after years of teaching various grades, and then being a principal at Bayard, was just appointed as Director of Curriculum for the Cobre school district. I am very proud of her."
Niel: For the first time ever, Niel attended a football game at a national stadium, where his alma mater, BYU, was beaten (sadly), by Notre Dame.
Steve making an announcement, where he used his Toastmaster's skills to encourage all of us to join Toastmasters. The high point of his announcement was to entertain us, which he did, by demonstrating how not to speak in public!

Recent new members gave a brief five minute bio. Anacaite Caperton, Will Hawkins, Don White and Linda Lowrance all shared some very interesting and humorous life experiences.
