Niel: Please put your cell phones on silent!

1. Foundation Board meeting today after regular meeting.

 2. Meeting next week will be at the Bowling Alley, 2020 Memory Lane, in the 10th Frame Lounge. 

    Jim said the room seats up to 50 people, and that the owner, Peggy, used to be a Rotarian. Most foods are under $10.00.

 

2. May 6th from 9 a m to 1 p m is the Dog/car wash Fundraiser at First Savings Bank. See Jim for further details. FFA has promised 10 kids to help!

If it's successful, perhaps future funds can go to National Honor Society.

Committee consists of Art, Rosie, Maggie. All are welcome to join in planning meeting on 4/25 after regular meeting.

Ryla applications are due this week.  Sunny K. and Kathy will start interviewing next week. Deadline has been extended to 5/12/23.

TranquilBuzz has been selected as the Small Business of the Year.

Both Dale Rucklos and Renya Craig are going to Roswell to accept the award on 4/21. They also are planning to attend the meeting on 4/25.

The Selection Committee urged the Commons to put in an application again next year.

Dick Jones wants to start the selections earlier next year.

 

Lucy: Gave a big "thank you" to the speaker coordinators for doing a great job.  "It's especially helpful for me to receive all of the information by the middle of the previous month."

 

Niel: Message from Carlos--if no one volunteers to do Lucy's job, the board will not be doing double jobs.

 

Happy Dollars:

Niel said that Silver High National Honor Society is proud to announce 11 State Champions with 19 students going to Nationals. Niel's daughter, Lizzie, is one of the students.

 

Maggie: My oldest daughter made the Honor Society!

 

Program: 

Rosie Higgs gave an excellent presentation about the Honduras Good Works. Her last trip was in 2022. She said it's a lot of hard work, up early, getting assignments, travelling two hours to a village, working on different jobs, and then travelling back to their home base before dark for food and socialization. Rosie said "supplying clean water for the people is her passion."
