Tuesday, December 13, 2022:
President Leslie Bush presided.
Dorothy Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Tom Bates gave the invocation.
Peter Falley led the Four-Way Test.
Guests: Maria Biondo-Longton, Wendy Spurgeon, and MaryAnn Marlar
Announcements:
Leslie: Please put your cell phones on silent!
Peter F.: on January 10, District Governor John Drusedum will be visiting.
In the past we have given a gift (or a donation to RI in the governor's name) from our club to the Governor. After some discussion today as to whether give a personal gift or make a donation to RI in the Governor's name, it was decided to donate a sum of money, the same as the previous year. Leslie said she would check the minutes to determine the amount. This decision was voted on by the members present, as not enough board members were there, and there are no meetings scheduled until January 10, 2023.
Jim suggested also giving a small personal item, such as the gourmet coffee
sold by the Benedictine Monks of Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery. "The coffee is called Abbey Roast, and is very good." Source is Jim!
Art: I have some stuffed animals for sale!
Happy Dollars: Lucy said that Maria Biondo Longton, not yet a member, had donated a cheesecake for our holiday potluck on December 2, which she could not attend. A generous gesture.
Program: Although the students from Aldo Leopold did not come (school snow day) Wendy and Mary Ann Marlar still provided a Christmas monologue and sing-along. "I have to say that their performances were much better than our singing." MaryAnn did a monologue as Mrs. Mabel Claus, and Wendy sang!
