Maggie passed around a sign-up sheet for the meal Rotary will be providing WNMU students remaining on campus for the Holidays. It was initially thought about 50 students will be on campus, however WNMU staff will provide a more accurate number as the Holidays approach. We have planned on feeding about 50 because leftovers can be utilized and the students who are unable to go home for the Holidays will be grateful and appreciative of our kind gesture providing this meal as we strive to meet Rotary’s official motto “Service above self”! Thank you to all who have already agreed to help, you are appreciated.

 

Tom Bates mentioned he reached out to Kiwanis to see if there is a service project Rotary can participate on with them. At this time they are ringing the bell at Walmart entrances on Saturdays and work in 2 hour shifts.  Art mentioned he was interested in being a bell ringer with little response from the club. Kiwanis also shops for Ft. Bayard Alzheimer’s patients they have listed 40 items with a $20 limit. These project idea’s should be bought before the Rotary Board when they meet next Tuesday.

 

Bi-District Conference is this weekend Tom Bates and Ben Jenkins will be attending.  It has been voted on and approved by the Rotary Board and the Club to allow Tom and Ben to spend $1000. There was much discussion about this subject.

 

Rotary Holiday gathering is still up in the air as Kathy Eaton mentioned she could be the host, however she is unavailable at this time to solidify. We will revisit this topic.
